The corporate media did an impressive job of ignoring some of the most important stories of 2013. We'll go through them and see if we can make some sense of this carnival of corruption and stupidity.

Welcome to the forum, where audience members can enter questions and comments about the main conversation happening on the left. Don't be shy, participating in the forum is the only way to get the attention of the two Hosts on stage!

Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:00 PM

Welcome everyone!
Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:00 PM

And welcome to my co-host, the always-beautiful and too-smart Eleanor Goldfield.
Eleanor Goldfield

Eleanor Goldfield · 8:00 PM

Ha - thank you Lee - you're making me blush.
Eleanor Goldfield

Eleanor Goldfield · 8:00 PM

Happy New Year everyone!
Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:00 PM

Thanks to 200 of you for showing up!
Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:01 PM

Let's talk about the things that were NOT talked about this year - at least not much by the corporate media.
Eleanor Goldfield

Eleanor Goldfield · 8:01 PM

Starting with...Fukushima
Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:01 PM

By the way, you guys have to click the "thumbs up" button in order for us to see comments form the audience. So do that!
Eleanor Goldfield

Eleanor Goldfield · 8:01 PM

TPP is on the list, of course. We'll get to that for sure
Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:02 PM

I want to hear what the audience thinks on whether fukushima is gonna fuck millions of us or whether it's just bad for Japan.
Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:02 PM

And perhaps a lot of fish.
Eleanor Goldfield

Eleanor Goldfield · 8:02 PM

I personally think that it will be more of an insidious issue rather than a severe immediate one
Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:03 PM

Eleanor - you're in LA. You gonna keep surfing?
Eleanor Goldfield

Eleanor Goldfield · 8:03 PM

Particularly here on the west coast, there's the faction that thinks the world is ending vs. people who don't know/care. I think you'll see an incredible impact on the oceans and everything in it
Eleanor Goldfield

Eleanor Goldfield · 8:03 PM

★ Spotlighted from Brad Davis

Definitely concerning topic. The Japanese government has gone beyond in covering up. I'm sure the US government is behind the coverup as well.

Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:04 PM

★ Spotlighted from Eric Russell

Are you going to actually be talking about the Trans Pacific Partnership? I hope so.....definitely one of the most overlooked and under reported stories out there.

Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:04 PM

Eric - YES. Soon.
Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:04 PM

★ Spotlighted from Dennis Mudloff

I think we are in trouble from Fukushima here in the states.

Eleanor Goldfield

Eleanor Goldfield · 8:04 PM

I have too much of the Jewish lack of coordination to start surfing in the first place ;)
Eleanor Goldfield

Eleanor Goldfield · 8:05 PM

★ Spotlighted from Jennifer Pfeiffer

I think we also need to focus on the effects of smoking, fracking, oil drilling, ect as just as important. They all release toxic chemicals.

Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:05 PM

Apparently 70 US navy men now have cancer from Fukushima - http://www.alternet.org/comments/environment/70-us-navy-sailors-sue-fukushima-radiation-poisoning
Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:05 PM

★ Spotlighted from Lucy Dyer

does the main stream media really think that this "business" with Fukushima will just go away? what a bunch of numb-nuts...

Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:05 PM

★ Spotlighted from Sophia Belita

aren't starfish, like, disintegrating?

Eleanor Goldfield

Eleanor Goldfield · 8:05 PM

And we will. Fracking is a huge concern but one topic at a time :)
Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:05 PM

Yeah, we can definitely all agree this is a huge disaster for sea life
Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:06 PM

as is the BP spill in the Gulf (another ignored story)!
Eleanor Goldfield

Eleanor Goldfield · 8:06 PM

The latest I've heard from Fukushima is "mysterious steam rising"
Eleanor Goldfield

Eleanor Goldfield · 8:06 PM

The fx are of course marine but also air quality, ground water, plant life, etc.
Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:06 PM

The BP spill as with Fukushima is ignored as if it went away. We seem to have the attention span of a mongoose on meth.
Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:06 PM

★ Spotlighted from Rachel McDonnell

All I have to say is how is our water supply going to recover and all the marine life. :( This whole thing is ridiculous, is it just me or is it completely illogical to build a nuclear plant on an island KNOWN for earthquakes and tsunamis??

Eleanor Goldfield

Eleanor Goldfield · 8:07 PM

I love that mongoose line - so damn true, unfortunately
Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:07 PM

So is all of this an intentional effort by the MSM to not speak about fukushima or is it more of a ratings thing - people don't watch when you talk about "old" stories.
Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:07 PM

★ Spotlighted from Sophia Belita

well lee, did you hear about the duck dynasty guy? i mean..come on. that's pretty hard to ignore..

Eleanor Goldfield

Eleanor Goldfield · 8:07 PM

Very good point, Rachel. You could argue that it's just illogical to build a nuclear power plant in general
Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:08 PM

Sophia has a good point. Maybe we need to talk more about Duck Vaginasty.
Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:08 PM

The irony is that considering the harm the BP spill continue to cause, maybe there won't be anymore ducks. And that should solve the duck dynasty obsession.
Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:09 PM

★ Spotlighted from Kerry Stevens

Yes, leave it to Duck Dynasty to take the spotlight instead of the actual real world news. I hate the media and rarely watch it.

Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:09 PM

★ Spotlighted from Jennifer Pfeiffer

The size of the earth and the size of fukushima...can't be that bad compared to the toxins leaking in the atmostphere from all other sources out there

Eleanor Goldfield

Eleanor Goldfield · 8:09 PM

★ Spotlighted from Rachel McDonnell

yes I WOULD argue that Eleanor.. I know I wasn't around when nuclear power was invented but I would like to know just what the hell they were thinking, especially when they don't even know how to control it

Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:09 PM

Are people here of the mind that nuclear power should be finished?
Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:09 PM

Which is certainly a debate the media doesn't seem to be interested in.
Eleanor Goldfield

Eleanor Goldfield · 8:10 PM

Again with ratings
Eleanor Goldfield

Eleanor Goldfield · 8:10 PM

Also that stories and arguments such as that are "uncomfortable."
Eleanor Goldfield

Eleanor Goldfield · 8:10 PM

★ Spotlighted from Rachel McDonnell

I think if we can't control or contain it we shouldn't use it, that simple.

Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:10 PM

★ Spotlighted from Sophia Belita

yes. we should use geo thermal/solar/wind/ocean currents instead//

Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:10 PM

★ Spotlighted from Lucy Dyer

nuclear power means even MORE money and power for the rich fat asshats. so

Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:11 PM

But Eleanor doesn't the media love other uncomfortable stories - like the Boston Bombing?
Eleanor Goldfield

Eleanor Goldfield · 8:11 PM

That's not uncomfortable in the sense that there's no argument
Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:11 PM

Biggest ratings ever for CNN and yet most of what was reported that day was wrong.
Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:11 PM

★ Spotlighted from Rachel McDonnell

yes we have so many other options our there, green options that aren't getting the attention or funding they deserve and then big corps go well see no one wants the green technology...

Eleanor Goldfield

Eleanor Goldfield · 8:12 PM

It's pretty cut and dry. They love fear factory news - they love death and destruction but if it's death and destruction vs. an alternative, that's no good
Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:12 PM

Okay, this talk of green energy is a perfect segue to another CENSORED news topic - ALEC is planning an onslaught against sustainable energy.
Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:12 PM

You're right, EG.
Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:12 PM

★ Spotlighted from Lucy Dyer

if it pulls on the hearts strings, the media goes nuts.

Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:12 PM

★ Spotlighted from Sophia Belita

or purse strings :-)

Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:13 PM

For those who don't know much about ALEC, look it up. It's one of the most powerful forces in US politics.
Eleanor Goldfield

Eleanor Goldfield · 8:13 PM

with the help of Google, Facebook, Yelp and other big digital companies
Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:13 PM

It allows corporations to tell governors and state legislatures what to do.
Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:13 PM

And yes, Google and others have recently joined.
Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:13 PM

★ Spotlighted from Rachel McDonnell

It's funny they shove fake fear down our throats (boston was blown into something bigger than it was) while ignoring the real things we should be afraid of

Eleanor Goldfield

Eleanor Goldfield · 8:13 PM

this is a good site for information on ALEC: http://www.alecexposed.org/wiki/ALEC_Exposed

Eleanor Goldfield

Eleanor Goldfield · 8:14 PM

★ Spotlighted from Gail Browne-McDonald

How do you combat something like ALE?

Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:14 PM

Eric, we'll get to the TPP soon.
Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:14 PM

@Gail - well, mainly information. There was a big victory against it in 2013.
Eleanor Goldfield

Eleanor Goldfield · 8:14 PM

Good question Gail - the first thing is obviously to spread awareness
Eleanor Goldfield

Eleanor Goldfield · 8:15 PM

People need to know that this is happening
Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:15 PM

Because it was behind "Stand your ground" a lot of big companies dropped out of it.
Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:15 PM

★ Spotlighted from Brad Davis

Holy crap I've never heard of ALEC

Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:15 PM

@Brad - Here's my video on ALEC http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4y2nZPe48Ms
Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:15 PM

Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:15 PM

★ Spotlighted from Gail Browne-McDonald

ALEC is brilliant - it is pervasive, it is multi-level and it is RICH

Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:16 PM

Leaked minutes from recent ALEC meetings show that their plan is to tear down sustainable energy this year.
Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:16 PM

★ Spotlighted from Brad Davis

Thanks Lee.. I will check it out

Eleanor Goldfield

Eleanor Goldfield · 8:16 PM

It ties in to corporate personhood. Basically that corporations have a "voice and vote" concerning laws that govern the people
Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:16 PM

Their first attempt is to call people who use solar panels to get their energy "free loaders." There were some articles about it.
Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:17 PM

★ Spotlighted from Alice Campbell

this from a quick google search,http://voiceofrussia.com/news/2014_01_01/Steam-over-Fukushima-as-sign-of-catastrophe-89-tons-of-deadly-radioactive-fuel-could-reach-US-in-2-days-2074/

Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:17 PM

And once they get people using the term "free loaders" it's too late. The thought battle has been won.
Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:17 PM

Yes, good point. ALEC and corporate personhood go hand in hand.
Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:17 PM

★ Spotlighted from Brad Davis

Thats a lame arguement...free loaders?

Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:17 PM

★ Spotlighted from Nate Haynes

Money in politics is the cause of most of our problems...

Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:18 PM

Yes, money in politics was not talked about much in 2013 b/c it was an off election year. But it needs to be talked about EVERY year.
Eleanor Goldfield

Eleanor Goldfield · 8:18 PM

Education, health care, tax reform - those are other ALEC targets. Privatize and monetize
Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:18 PM

★ Spotlighted from Alex Redman

what an interesting convo

Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:18 PM

★ Spotlighted from Lucy Dyer

what was it you said Lee? "its a thought revolution!"....

Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:18 PM

★ Spotlighted from Nate Haynes

With ALEC and TPP there will only be more money in politics :(

Eleanor Goldfield

Eleanor Goldfield · 8:18 PM

★ Spotlighted from Gail Browne-McDonald

I am terribly afraid that we are so far behind the curve on ALEC and corporate personhood that we have lost already. They have all the players in place in all branches of government.

Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:18 PM

Move to Amend is a good place to put efforts to stop money in politics.
Eleanor Goldfield

Eleanor Goldfield · 8:18 PM

★ Spotlighted from Brad Davis

But it still needs to be fought back.

Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:19 PM

ALEC also goes after womens rights.
Eleanor Goldfield

Eleanor Goldfield · 8:19 PM

As well as Money Out, Voters In
Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:19 PM

They are behind the push to make choice effectively illegal.
Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:19 PM

★ Spotlighted from Sophia Belita

every talks about getting money out of politics. i want to get rid of money AND politics. just DO shit. why bother waiting for the OK?

Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:19 PM

★ Spotlighted from Nate Haynes

Move to amend... I will look into that.

Eleanor Goldfield

Eleanor Goldfield · 8:20 PM

Basically to create an amendment to the consitution stating that corporations aren't people and money isn't free speech
Eleanor Goldfield

Eleanor Goldfield · 8:20 PM

that's MTA
Eleanor Goldfield

Eleanor Goldfield · 8:20 PM

in a nutshell
Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:20 PM

★ Spotlighted from Alex Redman

how do you all feel about the NSA and snowden trying to make you all believe you are being watched...? how many of you actually believe it?

Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:20 PM

@Alex - we'll get to that in a minute
Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:21 PM

Let's shift over to TPP for a second. This wins my award for the most important least talked about story of 2013.
Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:21 PM

★ Spotlighted from Eric Russell

We need to fight against Fast Track authority which allows the President to bypass Congressional authority on trade legislation

Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:21 PM

Okay, Eric, you finally get your topic.
Eleanor Goldfield

Eleanor Goldfield · 8:22 PM

Absolutely. Fast track is the conduit for TPP and TAFTA
Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:22 PM

TPP (trans pacific partnership) is a corporate coup that destroys our republic and our national sovereignty.
Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:22 PM

★ Spotlighted from Eric Russell

That is what the Obama Administration is trying to do in order to get the TPP through.

Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:22 PM

★ Spotlighted from Gail Browne-McDonald

TTP doesn't interest people unless it is their water flaming from the tap.

Eleanor Goldfield

Eleanor Goldfield · 8:22 PM

exposethetpp.org is another good site for info
Eleanor Goldfield

Eleanor Goldfield · 8:22 PM

Ha - well Gail, that doesn't interest enough people either.
Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:23 PM

TPP actually does ahve to do with flaming tap water. If it passes corporations will have free reign to frack wherever they want - essentially.
Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:23 PM

They can sue countries for not allowing them to make their profits.
Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:23 PM

★ Spotlighted from Lucy Dyer

@eleanor - and flushthrtpp.org

Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:23 PM

★ Spotlighted from Gail Browne-McDonald

We need to make it personal

Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:23 PM

★ Spotlighted from Eric Russell

I would posit that we can talk about ALEC and the TPP in the same conversation. They are one in the same when you are talking about agenda.

Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:24 PM

★ Spotlighted from Nate Haynes

I agree with Eric on that. TPP and ALEC help achieve the same goal.

Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:24 PM

Here's my video on TPP to watch after the Tawk - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3M1o7bPNOGo
Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:24 PM

Chomsky says trade deals are designed to limit the "risk" of democracy for corporations.
Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:25 PM

What Chomsky means is that trade deals lock in bad deals for the people and good deals for corporations. Then, no matter what the people vote for - it doesn't matter. The trade deal stops democracy.
Eleanor Goldfield

Eleanor Goldfield · 8:25 PM

★ Spotlighted from Ryan Branin

The risk? Of what? Not being able to destroy countries quickly enough?

Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:26 PM

By the way, TPP is not the only one. There is another massive trade deal called "Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership" that is between the US and EU.
Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:26 PM

★ Spotlighted from Lucy Dyer

think of all the rights you have - or whats left of them -all the "freedom" you have right now, right this minute - the TPP has the potential to take that ALL away.

Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:26 PM

★ Spotlighted from Jon Martin

I think it's deliberate that there are so many "one in the same" issues.. it divides the activists/people on yet another level.. "my issue is more important" mentality ensues.. meanwhile time passes and so do the bills..

Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:26 PM

★ Spotlighted from Nate Haynes

It's the illusion of choice for voters Lee, we have a broken "two party" system. I agree with you.

Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:26 PM

★ Spotlighted from Brad Davis

And if the risk is realized, the people pay.

Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:27 PM

★ Spotlighted from Rachel McDonnell

Do these people have a plan AFTER they take the planet for all it's worth? What are they going to do when they have destroyed even the air THEY breathe and the water THEY drink??

Eleanor Goldfield

Eleanor Goldfield · 8:27 PM

Gremlins and/or NSA in my internet at the moment so sorry for going silent.
Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:27 PM

@Rachel - They're short term greedy. They don't care about later.
Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:28 PM

★ Spotlighted from Alex Redman

do you really believe that any law can take away actual ability to do as we please online? do you think that the real power online will allow that? curious

Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:28 PM

★ Spotlighted from Jon Martin

Yes alex.. I think it can easily be phased in that less and less freedom is allowed online.. your ISP for instance can be forced to shut down your internet connection.. bloop there goes your online power..

Eleanor Goldfield

Eleanor Goldfield · 8:28 PM

@Rachel - for them, it's immediate profits
Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:28 PM

Okay, Alex, let's move on to NSA. I feel like your questions are either rhetorical or naive. Of course they can take internet freedom and of course they can watch our emails.
Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:28 PM

★ Spotlighted from Brad Davis

an internet blackout will be the next version of martial law

Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:29 PM

And Brad, they've done that in places like Egypt - or come close.
Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:29 PM

★ Spotlighted from Lucy Dyer

hackers have been looking at peoles emails for years. you really think the governments cant do the same thing,or worse?

Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:29 PM

Anonymous should've been a huge story of 2013 but it was not. It scares the shit out of corporations and the corporate media.
Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:29 PM

★ Spotlighted from Jon Martin

It's already happened in countries during revolutions, pretty sure Egypt and Syria were two recent examples of internet power being squashed fairly successfully.

Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:30 PM

Alex, you're not exactly a troll, but it's weird to say you can't participate in the conversation.
Eleanor Goldfield

Eleanor Goldfield · 8:30 PM

★ Spotlighted from Nate Haynes

It seems like so much of our lives have been shifted to the online world- taking it away from us when that's all we know how to use would be a powerful blow to activists.

Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:30 PM

★ Spotlighted from Brad Davis

Anons are branded as terrorists

Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:30 PM

★ Spotlighted from Hand Tomouth

I love when people say, "well if you're not doing anything wrong..." It's not about stopping terrorism, it's about the police state we live in

Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:31 PM

Hacking is like a gun, it can be used for good or evil. But the gov't acts like it's only used for evil.
Eleanor Goldfield

Eleanor Goldfield · 8:31 PM

Until they do it themselves.
Eleanor Goldfield

Eleanor Goldfield · 8:31 PM

@Hand - that's also a very good point.
Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:31 PM

Alex, I love you, man. I'm throwing a big hug your way.

Eleanor Goldfield

Eleanor Goldfield · 8:32 PM

★ Spotlighted from Nate Haynes

Lee is rude to the government, not to the people :P

Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:33 PM

Anyway, I think the idea that the media calls Snowden a traitor is another one of the biggest fails of the media this past year.
Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:33 PM

There is no better example of a whistle blower than Snowden.
Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:33 PM

★ Spotlighted from Rachel McDonnell

Snowden is a hero!

Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:34 PM

★ Spotlighted from Nate Haynes

Snowden knew he would be on the run after what he did, more a patriot than anything.

Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:34 PM

And Snowden also did not profit from what he did. That's the definition of a whistleblower.
Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:34 PM

★ Spotlighted from Brad Davis

Its a POTUS fail too...after his campaign speech promising protection for whisteblowers...oh wait, thats how politicians operate. sorry, I forgot

Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:34 PM

★ Spotlighted from Jennifer Pfeiffer

I don't understand why everyone is so upset with the whistleblower anywas?

Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:34 PM

@Jennifer - They're only upset because they're told to be upset by the media.
Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:35 PM

I watched CNN interview Greenwald and they were very careful with their words to make him seem bad for America. They asked questions like "Why do you choose to release information at times when it can do the most damage?"
Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:35 PM

Just the wording of the question alone is manipulative.
Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:35 PM

★ Spotlighted from Lucy Dyer

funny how "they" don't want us to know the truth. about how things REALLY are, what really happened. if you create a lie for long enough, people will start to believe it. and thats what the powers that be dont like

Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:35 PM

★ Spotlighted from Alex Redman

interesting!

Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:35 PM

★ Spotlighted from Nate Haynes

Snowden gave up everything to let people know what was happening, he did something selfless and it is a perfect example of civil disobedience.

Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:35 PM

★ Spotlighted from Jennifer Pfeiffer

I agree Lee and Yes, it is better to know the truth.

Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:36 PM

★ Spotlighted from Ryan Branin

It is getting to the point where people think nothing that the Media doesn't tell them to think.

Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:36 PM

Ryan - Is that true? Or are more people thinking outside the box than ever before?
Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:36 PM

★ Spotlighted from Eric Russell

Just an aside.....Bill Moyers does a great job covering ALL of these topics. He's really fantastic despite being an old white guy.

Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:36 PM

Here's my video on Snowden. Feel free to check it out after the Tawk - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CQzj-Ha0lu0
Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:37 PM

★ Spotlighted from Brad Davis

I'd like to think so, Lee

Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:37 PM

★ Spotlighted from Nate Haynes

Fox news, CNN, it's all designed to get us to regurgitate something, anything besides what we really think.

Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:37 PM

Eleanor is having internet issues - she apologizes.
Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:37 PM

★ Spotlighted from Lucy Dyer

i have to agree with Lee on this one Ryan. more people are beginning to question the media. more and more people want to know the truth

Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:37 PM

★ Spotlighted from Ryan Branin

There are more people that are starting to think outside the box. but the rest are being led ever more easily.

Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:37 PM

I think in 2014 we have to continue to grow media that is not under the corporate umbrella.
Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:38 PM

★ Spotlighted from Nate Haynes

Lee is quickly becoming my new favorite activist XD It's between Lee and my personal friend Bob...

Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:38 PM

★ Spotlighted from Brad Davis

but there is still a ton of ignorance out there. Unfortunately, social media works both ways

Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:38 PM

★ Spotlighted from Rachel McDonnell

I feel like more and more people are discussing things more these days which is good. We may not have all the answers but true change first starts with discussion

Is people would just talk about the facts instead of being so sensitive I think real progress can be made.

Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:38 PM

Having a platform like Tawkers is having an effect. We can come together and talk about shit. Twitter and FB too. ...even if we are watched as we do it.
Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:38 PM

★ Spotlighted from Ryan Branin

And there you hit the nail on the head Lee. "Corporate Umbrella"

Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:39 PM

★ Spotlighted from Nate Haynes

Lee mentioned Alternative Media- that's a huge step to the people regaining power, and a good topic...

Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:39 PM

Lee Camp

Lee Camp · 8:41 PM

Jennifer - Obamacare was covered extensively but it seemed they focused on the harm done rather than the good. I believe it has both aspects but there are a lot of people who can finally get care. So it has both sides.
