What would your biggest tip in the kitchen be Rachael? nn
RR

Rachael Ray · 1:55 AM

Make the kitchen welcoming. Make it an environment you want to hang out in.n

How do you go about this? I know everyone has there own way of navigating the kitchen.

Fiddle with the lighting, burn a candle, have a cup of tea, glass of wine, put on your favorite mix.n

Oh I love that. I’m particularly big on the wine.n

Also if I can give another big tip. Don’t buy pot sets, as they're often overpriced. And you may likely not need all the sizes. Unless they’re mine, because I made big ones haha

This is so true. I think you should build your equipment as you grow, and add more pots and pans as needed. You can even ask for them for birthday presents.nn

Another big one for me is tasting as you cook. Taste your food as you're cooking. Food should taste good. Not tasting is the worst mistake most recruits make in Boot Camp. And who will want to eat it if it tastes bad or bland?n

I think another one for me is learning to have fun with the cooking too. It’s just food, people should be adventurous. Julia Child always said, 'Only the cook knows what happens in the kitchen,'" Rachael cites as her example.

★ Spotlighted from Gabrielle Hamann

Rachael I really love your style of cooking and often follow your recipes. What's your favorite thing to cook at the moment?

RR

Rachael Ray · 2:05 AM

That makes me so happy Gabrielle. My favorite thing to cook at the moment is a beef wellington. n

Anne Burrell · 2:05 AM

What's that? Sounds very exotic.

It’s actually quite simple, beef rolled up in pastry. It’s great for a fancy dinner party or holiday meal, this classic dish is sure to impress. Here’s a photo of the one I cooked at my last dinner party. n
