I really don't think there's much to be debated here. Athletes are allowed to wear nasal strips. When we're talking the Triple Crown, I certainly think California Chrome counts as an athlete!

They can...it's up to the owners. Another influence in the decision was that Art Sherman threatened not to race California Chrome if he couldn't wear nasal strips

It's a physical sport and the strips are intended to aid in keeping your airway clear...seems like a part of the uniform not an accessory

I think it's be over-ridden soon enough. There's no arguing the fact that California Chrome is a truly magnificent racehorse. To argue otherwise would seem ignorant, and no one wants to be "that guy" in the Triple Crown circle of influence.
