So the second normalcy starts showing itself after the Sandy-induced gas shortages and power outages, everyone starts going ape shit over the whole Twinkie thing!? I think it's great that people are able to get their priorities in check and help each othe
DF

Daniel Fodera · 5:53 PM

other when the going gets rough, but why do you have to bounce back to being such f***ing morons so quickly? This is really an issue? People are the stupidest people in the world.
Blake Ian

Blake Ian · 5:56 PM

Hahah... well said. There are definitely no dumber people on earth... than people!
Blake Ian

Blake Ian · 5:58 PM

Also, nice Tawk title! well done sir.
DF

Daniel Fodera · 6:03 PM

Thank you, sir! It just came to me.
DF

Daniel Fodera · 6:04 PM

I'm an Entemann's kind of guy, so...yeah.
Blake Ian

Blake Ian · 6:05 PM

My thoughts on the topic are... This would be a great thing for the people of this country... If they aren't going to stop eating these Food Type Things on their own... they had to be taken away!!
Blake Ian

Blake Ian · 6:05 PM

Alas, Michael Hauptman in the audience makes a good point
Blake Ian

Blake Ian · 6:06 PM

The value of demand for these products is too great and someone will keep making them
DF

Daniel Fodera · 6:06 PM

I've said this way too many times...we forget about the vast amount of land between the coasts. The Honey Boo Boos of the country will have their day and never give up their lifestyle.
DF

Daniel Fodera · 6:10 PM

I just feel bad for all of the Twinkie fetishists out there who will no longer be able to "get to that place".
DF

Daniel Fodera · 6:10 PM

And for the people who are losing their jobs.
DF

Daniel Fodera · 6:11 PM

★ Spotlighted from Michael Hauptman

no they will not. they will have their chinese made twinkies and eat them too!

Blake Ian

Blake Ian · 6:11 PM

hahah nice Michael
Blake Ian

Blake Ian · 6:11 PM

yes, honestly though... the jobs are a downside
Blake Ian

Blake Ian · 6:12 PM

though I feel like when something not good goes away... if people would just let it go away... something better can take its place
Blake Ian

Blake Ian · 6:12 PM

but going back to the people actually complaining about the loss of these snacks....
Blake Ian

Blake Ian · 6:12 PM

its more of an evolutionary move I think!
DF

Daniel Fodera · 6:12 PM

Yes, but you're forgetting about attachment and people can't let anything go willingly.
Blake Ian

Blake Ian · 6:13 PM

It's the Universe saying... NO MORE! what are you people eating???
Blake Ian

Blake Ian · 6:13 PM

so it's actually a zen issue
DF

Daniel Fodera · 6:13 PM

Look at how we need to save and catalogue EVERYTHING now. Do we really need it all?
Blake Ian

Blake Ian · 6:13 PM

I mean if they are still eating Twinkies, I don't think they are going to be practicing non-attachement any time soon
DF

Daniel Fodera · 6:14 PM

Everything is a Zen issue.
Blake Ian

Blake Ian · 6:14 PM

and everything is not
Blake Ian

Blake Ian · 6:14 PM

;P
DF

Daniel Fodera · 6:14 PM

It's goes deeper than Twinkies, Blake.
Blake Ian

Blake Ian · 6:14 PM

Absolutely... I saw a billboard that said "the loss of this billboard costs jobs!"
DF

Daniel Fodera · 6:15 PM

I can't knock those who love what they love. Lord knows that some of the things that get me through my nights are not alright with everyone.
DF

Daniel Fodera · 6:15 PM

That billboard kills me.
Blake Ian

Blake Ian · 6:15 PM

So like... if brands are not seeing enough return on investment by using billboards they should still use them just to save jobs that are not adding value?
Blake Ian

Blake Ian · 6:15 PM

OR should we let them go... so people can pursue more valuable ways of advertising and people can do THAT job instead
Blake Ian

Blake Ian · 6:16 PM

Michael in audience is actually in advertising... digital advertising, so I know he feels me on that!
DF

Daniel Fodera · 6:16 PM

It's not so much the crumbling (like what I did there?) of the Hostess company as it is that this is the focus of everyone's panic this week.
Blake Ian

Blake Ian · 6:18 PM

@Michael, right so not ROI in dollars but value in general, if companies have realized they don't have money to spend there... then people need to find more valuable brand outlets to offer... that's progress!
Blake Ian

Blake Ian · 6:18 PM

if we hold onto the past for the sake of not wanting to change.... we slow progress completely
Blake Ian

Blake Ian · 6:18 PM

and yes dan... i LIKE what you did there heheh
Blake Ian

Blake Ian · 6:19 PM

I should have made Michael a moderator to this tawk!
Blake Ian

Blake Ian · 6:20 PM

Ive never tried that after a tawk is started... it could wreak havoc and Jordan would kill me! We may all of a sudden all get re-routed to friendster!
Blake Ian

Blake Ian · 6:20 PM

★ Spotlighted from Michael Hauptman

the problem is the media. displace the media and there is a chance people would take it upon themselves to make their own decisions

Blake Ian

Blake Ian · 6:21 PM

Ugh why does the media F%ck up everything?!
DF

Daniel Fodera · 6:21 PM

@ Michael - Stop sounding like such an intelligent individual! That's what kills me all the time are the priorities that people make for themselves and what they choose to focus on.
Blake Ian

Blake Ian · 6:21 PM

You know when you can't find that matching sock after your laundry???
Blake Ian

Blake Ian · 6:21 PM

...The MEDIA!
DF

Daniel Fodera · 6:22 PM

I wanted to make a "Medi-ocre-a" joke, But, nope. It would suck.
Blake Ian

Blake Ian · 6:22 PM

Going back to the issue at hand dudes... The end of these awful Food Type Things is evolution, the only downside to losing Twinkies, is that it was helping to faster kill off people who are dumb enough to eat Twinkies! At least there is still Meth!
DF

Daniel Fodera · 6:24 PM

Don't knock meth. I don't think that food(?) like this will ever stop being produced though. There are a lot of Honey Boo Boos out there. They ain't going to give up that easy.
Blake Ian

Blake Ian · 6:24 PM

They may not give up that easily... but I can't say the same for their hearts! HiYOOOOO!
DF

Daniel Fodera · 6:25 PM

Well played!
Blake Ian

Blake Ian · 6:27 PM

I don't know if I have ever had a twinkie.... definitely have no recollection. I know I liked Yodels when I was 9. That was the last Hostess consumer experience I can remember.
Blake Ian

Blake Ian · 6:27 PM

We gotta get Nelson and Vinnie in here... those are some opinionated insightful folk as well
DF

Daniel Fodera · 6:28 PM

There must have been some time on my life that I had one, but who cares?
DF

Daniel Fodera · 6:28 PM

I agree. Are they tawking yet?
Blake Ian

Blake Ian · 6:30 PM

I have just invited Vinnie to get in on Dis Alpha
Blake Ian

Blake Ian · 6:30 PM

I dont see Nelson online
DF

Daniel Fodera · 6:31 PM

Right on.
DF

Daniel Fodera · 6:31 PM

He would be a phenom here.
Blake Ian

Blake Ian · 6:31 PM

Michael is one of the better audience members we could ask for, as he had a huge hand in developing Tawkers... but when you get some numbers down there in the audience... its a lot of fun!
Blake Ian

Blake Ian · 6:32 PM

especially outspoken folk like nelson and vinnie
Blake Ian

Blake Ian · 6:32 PM

★ Spotlighted from Michael Hauptman

Sadly these products will not be lost, the brands are far too valuable to our obese population and now possibly washington and colorado

Blake Ian

Blake Ian · 6:32 PM

For sure Michael, though I am a bit confused...
Blake Ian

Blake Ian · 6:32 PM

Hostess is going out of business because of a bakers strike I know
Blake Ian

Blake Ian · 6:33 PM

but isn't there SOME lack of demand that they can't afford to see it through?
Blake Ian

Blake Ian · 6:33 PM

also how will another conglomerate find all those bakers to replace them anyway if hostess can't?
Blake Ian

Blake Ian · 6:34 PM

I guess they may be bought up separately... like one company can buy just Twinkies, and another can handle Yodel production...
DF

Daniel Fodera · 6:40 PM

On the other hand, if we didn't have any of these foods(?), then we also would never have such cultural gems as 'The Disorderlies' or 'Roseanne'.
Blake Ian

Blake Ian · 6:43 PM

Ha! The Disorderlies!
Blake Ian

Blake Ian · 6:43 PM

Roseanne, you mean 5th place in this past Presidential Election Roseanne????
Blake Ian

Blake Ian · 6:44 PM

The former mayor of SLC who got fewer votes than her is certainly comforting himself with many a hostess treat right now
DF

Daniel Fodera · 6:44 PM

YES!! Even after she grabbed her crotch at the baseball game oh those years ago!
Blake Ian

Blake Ian · 6:45 PM

Did you see her roast? She ended by singing the national anthem very nicely in key... was pretty funny. I actually like her overall.
Blake Ian

Blake Ian · 6:45 PM

Dude, Tom Arnold showed up back stage and came out unplanned
Blake Ian

Blake Ian · 6:45 PM

It was pretty amazingly uncomfortable... they had apparently not been in a room together in like 18 years
DF

Daniel Fodera · 6:46 PM

Yeah, I heard about all of that. Jill has been watching reruns this week and they have a lot of great moments in them.
Blake Ian

Blake Ian · 6:48 PM

Roseanne reruns? or Roast reruns?
Blake Ian

Blake Ian · 6:48 PM

of What's Happenin Reruns!?!
Blake Ian

Blake Ian · 6:49 PM

starring Freddie Stubbs... as Rerun!
DF

Daniel Fodera · 6:50 PM

RErun!!! Roseanne reruns.
DF

Daniel Fodera · 6:50 PM

A young Walter.
Blake Ian

Blake Ian · 6:51 PM

Speaking of Twinkies.... at what point did John Goodman say, lets just see how far I can let myself go!?
Blake Ian

Blake Ian · 6:52 PM

Though I do love that man so
Blake Ian

Blake Ian · 6:53 PM

"Twinkies are not the issue here dude"
DF

Daniel Fodera · 6:53 PM

Ahahaha! Yeah. Haven't seen 'Argo' yet, but he is huge in those trailers.
Blake Ian

Blake Ian · 6:54 PM

"I did not watch my buddies die face down in the muck so that this fucking strumpet could take away my right to eat yodels!"

Blake Ian

Blake Ian · 7:44 PM

@Jordan Sudy - 10 bucks? Try they are already going on ebay for up to $5,000 for a single Twinkie! http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/11/16/twinkies-ebay-starting-bid-hostess-bankruptcy_n_2146273.html
Blake Ian

Blake Ian · 7:45 PM

entire Lots for sale at $200K, it's like the opening act of WIlly Wonka out there!
DF

Daniel Fodera · 7:50 PM

And now I sink into my socially instigated depression a little bit deeper. That money couldn't be used for, oh I don't know, disaster relief? Education? Rebuilding of a crumbling infrastructure? Election campaigns?
Blake Ian

Blake Ian · 7:53 PM

Yodels?
Blake Ian

Blake Ian · 7:53 PM

you forgot Yodels Dan
Blake Ian

Blake Ian · 7:53 PM

I'm sure it was an oversight
Blake Ian

Blake Ian · 2:07 AM

Vintage Twinkies! Sounds the opposite of delicious!
Blake Ian

Blake Ian · 2:16 AM

★ Spotlighted from Galen Dorian

OR "vintage twinkies", which look and taste alarmingly identical to their modern counterparts.

Blake Ian

Blake Ian · 5:09 PM

One of those news items that just completely disappeared in a day
