I don't do too much on Facebook any more. I find inspiration from a site called Care2 where 25,000,000 plus people are doing good. A friend of mine there recently turned me onto birds, Robin. I want to research which ones are indigenous here in Urugu

RM

Rachel McDonnell · 11:07 PM

anything we can do to maintain species diversity is a GREAT thing right now

RM

Rachel McDonnell · 11:09 PM

LD

Lucy Dyer · 11:10 PM

RM

Rachel McDonnell · 11:10 PM

omg it is so much fun! half the items are randoms acts of kindness and the other half are just.. random :)
LD

Lucy Dyer · 11:10 PM

i am constantly fed up with trying to please others. i know i sohuldnt but i do. its a failing of mine. i really should just do what i want lol
RM

Rachel McDonnell · 11:10 PM

yeah finding the time is the hard part. but I am hoping to do something like that or an "easy guide" to non-gmo or something
RM

Rachel McDonnell · 11:11 PM

i am like that too lucy, guess it just means we have big hearts
RM

Rachel McDonnell · 11:11 PM

LD

Lucy Dyer · 11:11 PM

RM

Rachel McDonnell · 11:11 PM

So true, Lucy. I follow a fb page called Momastery and I would have never found her blog without facebook. http://momastery.com/blog/

RM

Rachel McDonnell · 11:13 PM

RM

Rachel McDonnell · 11:13 PM

if only more people were so inspired!
RM

Rachel McDonnell · 11:13 PM

this is another cool one! http://www.collective-evolution.com/2014/02/24/this-simple-affordable-technology-is-going-to-make-history-meet-the-lifestraw/
LD

Lucy Dyer · 11:14 PM

one word - apathy
RM

Rachel McDonnell · 11:14 PM

I had never heard of this, lasts up to ONE YEAR for a single person!
RM

Rachel McDonnell · 11:14 PM

or hopelessness?
LD

Lucy Dyer · 11:14 PM

oooo yes i saw that a while back. so cool
LD

Lucy Dyer · 11:14 PM

and so damn simple
RM

Rachel McDonnell · 11:14 PM

it is awesome and I can't believe more people don't know about these inventions ya know!?
RM

Rachel McDonnell · 11:14 PM

★ Spotlighted from Julie Myers

I think creativity has to be nurtured. How do we do that in our children?

LD

Lucy Dyer · 11:15 PM

its like the cure for cancer,if it happens,do you really think the MSM would tell us? (sighs)
RM

Rachel McDonnell · 11:15 PM

don't let public school defeat them would be my answer Julie, and just encourage imagination. :)
RM

Rachel McDonnell · 11:15 PM

I mean I think about the guy who invented this straw and he would have to go around himself and sell the things or raise awareness...
LD

Lucy Dyer · 11:16 PM

gosh julie, thats a hard one. let kids be kids. remember when you could play in the mud?
RM

Rachel McDonnell · 11:16 PM

★ Spotlighted from Kathy Niell

I think hopelessness paralyzes people; about the lifestraw, there are many inventions that are pretty amazing - like a barrel on wheels so women in counries where they have to haul water don't have to carry large contains on their heads or whatever.

RM

Rachel McDonnell · 11:16 PM

i loved to play in the mud, still do :) and yes a connection to nature I think is REALLY important to teach kids today
RM

Rachel McDonnell · 11:17 PM

I agree Kathy, I think people are more hopeless about change than anything, at least around the U.S.
RM

Rachel McDonnell · 11:17 PM

★ Spotlighted from Julie Myers

Don't get me started on public school Rachel Jan :-) However, that being said, since so many kids are in public school it would be nice if creative thought was encouraged

RM

Rachel McDonnell · 11:17 PM

★ Spotlighted from Kathy Niell

Rachel, it appears that we train the instinctive love of nature OUT of our children, sadly. Otherwise, how could people do things like fracking, etc.?

LD

Lucy Dyer · 11:17 PM

too many people put kids on bubbles - to protect them. from what? the outside world? ppfffttt
LD

Lucy Dyer · 11:17 PM

in not on
RM

Rachel McDonnell · 11:17 PM

we should worry more about the things created in the lab
LD

Lucy Dyer · 11:18 PM

i think i we straying of the happy trail lol
LD

Lucy Dyer · 11:18 PM

★ Spotlighted from Robin Maynard

LD

Lucy Dyer · 11:18 PM

★ Spotlighted from Julie Myers

Yes, we are... Sorry!

LD

Lucy Dyer · 11:18 PM

s'ok julie
RM

Rachel McDonnell · 11:18 PM

I'm still happy, Nature is Magic! :)
RM

Rachel McDonnell · 11:19 PM

which is how we need to teach it, get the kids to grow their own plants, keep their own pets and things, I remember I took care of a snail when I was younger and it was fun! :)
RM

Rachel McDonnell · 11:19 PM

★ Spotlighted from Robin Maynard

i love being in my yard. i let it "go wild" and it's like a forest now.

RM

Rachel McDonnell · 11:19 PM

★ Spotlighted from Robin Maynard

RM

Rachel McDonnell · 11:26 PM

Lucy Dyer · 11:26 PM

★ Spotlighted from Robin Maynard

LD

Lucy Dyer · 11:43 PM

RM

Rachel McDonnell · 11:43 PM

RM

Rachel McDonnell · 11:43 PM

RM

Rachel McDonnell · 11:43 PM

★ Spotlighted from Kathy Niell

Maybe that's the point, Julie. Like on the Star Trek episode when the guy was reanimated from the 20th century and immediately asked how rich he was from all his investments. Capt. Piccard said that nobody had money; every just had what they needed a

RM

Rachel McDonnell · 11:43 PM

★ Spotlighted from Julie Myers

That is why we should not stifle it in one another. Let your inner genius fly!

RM

Rachel McDonnell · 11:43 PM

and contributed what they could! Works for me!

LD

Lucy Dyer · 11:43 PM

i see when you spot light comet tho
LD

Lucy Dyer · 11:44 PM

oh no. no a trekkie!
RM

Rachel McDonnell · 11:44 PM

I don't understand why we don't just all start modeling a federation, because OBVIOUSLY Roddenberry had it right..
LD

Lucy Dyer · 11:44 PM

did that robin
RM

Rachel McDonnell · 11:44 PM

I am inspire by star trek, and star wars Lucy! I know you like that! :)
LD

Lucy Dyer · 11:44 PM

RM

Rachel McDonnell · 11:44 PM

Trekkies united! :)
LD

Lucy Dyer · 11:44 PM

i''l sit back and let you trekkies tawk...
RM

Rachel McDonnell · 11:45 PM

★ Spotlighted from Robin Maynard

rachel, i think thats what we need to do. just get started.

RM

Rachel McDonnell · 11:45 PM

I think the first step then is to start seeing things GLOBALLY, as ONE
RM

Rachel McDonnell · 11:45 PM

★ Spotlighted from Julie Myers

Yes, we will. I am love all science fiction. Even Star Wars,

LD

Lucy Dyer · 11:46 PM

as bill hicks said "we are all one"
RM

Rachel McDonnell · 11:46 PM

science fiction has the freedom to explore different realities, while at the same time making a statement about the current one. LOVE SCI-FI
RM

Rachel McDonnell · 11:46 PM

exactly, I think once people realize just HOW interconnected everyone and everything is, that's when we will be able to band together
RM

Rachel McDonnell · 11:46 PM

★ Spotlighted from Kathy Niell

We are stardust, we are golden....

LD

Lucy Dyer · 11:46 PM

★ Spotlighted from Julie Myers

The trouble with thinking Globally is that too many people think if it does not personally affect me then it is not worth my attention

RM

Rachel McDonnell · 11:47 PM

★ Spotlighted from Robin Maynard

if we act on that premise... we are all one... other will see the truth of it, eventually.

LD

Lucy Dyer · 11:47 PM

we a re full of gas,w are explodin'
LD

Lucy Dyer · 11:47 PM

its true tho. we are full of gas :-)
LD

Lucy Dyer · 11:47 PM

its just rhymes is all lol
RM

Rachel McDonnell · 11:48 PM

I think Lee Camp said this, and it is true, it would only take something like 10% of the population to rise up to actually make a true difference, it doesn't need to be everyone, but you are right julie people think "someone else will do it"
LD

Lucy Dyer · 11:48 PM

its a long road but we'll get there
RM

Rachel McDonnell · 11:48 PM

we need them to think "I WANT to do this"
RM

Rachel McDonnell · 11:48 PM

★ Spotlighted from comet demuta

Let kindness be your master. Let love be your mentor. Let compassion be your verdict. Let peace be your goal. Let respect guide you always. L*

LD

Lucy Dyer · 11:48 PM

dangit, i thought it started at 8
RM

Rachel McDonnell · 11:48 PM

★ Spotlighted from Kathy Niell

The illusion that we are NOT one is killing this world.

LD

Lucy Dyer · 11:48 PM

DOH! @Rick
RM

Rachel McDonnell · 11:49 PM

I agree, division is dangerous
RM

Rachel McDonnell · 11:49 PM

so I think we can learn from that. this week we learned that unity is so very much important
RM

Rachel McDonnell · 11:49 PM

therefore this next week I think we should all make it a point to reach out to someone who we normally wouldn't
RM

Rachel McDonnell · 11:50 PM

maybe doesn't have the same station in life, or someone you normally would not think twice to talk to and do something nice for them :)
RM

Rachel McDonnell · 11:50 PM

★ Spotlighted from Julie Myers

I think Misha has the right idea though.. it is the small random acts of kindness that help spread the word.

LD

Lucy Dyer · 11:50 PM

random acts of kindness...another Camp thing....

LD

Lucy Dyer · 11:52 PM

RM

Rachel McDonnell · 11:52 PM

I would love to tawk about the realities of every day people being a fraid of the police someday soon.. because I don't think people realize it is a big issue
RM

Rachel McDonnell · 11:52 PM

★ Spotlighted from comet demuta

yes i agree the revolution is occurring and i believe it one of re-engaging empathy compassion and care for the whole of life and the earth

RM

Rachel McDonnell · 11:52 PM

★ Spotlighted from Kathy Niell

When I was a kid, we were taught the police are our friends. Now? I think people who go into policing are S&M sickos.

RM

Rachel McDonnell · 11:53 PM

the word narcissistic comes to my mind Kathy, but I know there are the true good cops out there too, we need to nurture those types of authority
RM

Rachel McDonnell · 11:53 PM

★ Spotlighted from Julie Myers

So our homework is to be kind to someone this week?

RM

Rachel McDonnell · 11:53 PM

★ Spotlighted from Kathy Niell

Sorry, Rachel.....back to happy thoughts!

RM

Rachel McDonnell · 11:53 PM

LD

Lucy Dyer · 11:53 PM

RM

Rachel McDonnell · 11:53 PM

LD

Lucy Dyer · 11:53 PM

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=63dokT3hjRs
RM

Rachel McDonnell · 11:54 PM

RM

Rachel McDonnell · 11:54 PM

RM

Rachel McDonnell · 11:54 PM

i work in the public realm, i get paid to be nice
RM

Rachel McDonnell · 11:54 PM

haha Rick, well then your assignment is to genuinely smile at someone you normally wouldn't ;) see nothing HUGE, it helps us out ourselves too, being kind
RM

Rachel McDonnell · 11:55 PM

★ Spotlighted from Kathy Niell

I like to be kind. The repayment I get are big smiles of recognition from those to whom I am kind.

LD

Lucy Dyer · 11:55 PM

small rebellions,small revolutions
LD

Lucy Dyer · 11:55 PM

i smile at everyone, i get fired if i don't
RM

Rachel McDonnell · 11:55 PM

it is amazing at how taken aback some people get when they realize you are just doing something kind
RM

Rachel McDonnell · 11:55 PM

you pick one Rick, I know you will pick a good one :)
RM

Rachel McDonnell · 11:56 PM

exactly that's why I do it to remind those other people out there kindness still exists
RM

Rachel McDonnell · 11:56 PM

le sigh
RM

Rachel McDonnell · 11:56 PM

do you want a specific task rick? hah
RM

Rachel McDonnell · 11:56 PM

Rachel McDonnell · 11:57 PM
