Hi
LT

Lizz Taylor · 11:50 AM

Hi and thank you for joining me!
JB

Jay Bird · 11:50 AM

You're very welcome:)
LT

Lizz Taylor · 11:50 AM

Can you believe the Ebola virus is claiming hundreds of lives on Africa?
JB

Jay Bird · 11:51 AM

Well... I can because the parts Africa where it's breaking out are far underdeveloped compared to the USA
LT

Lizz Taylor · 11:51 AM

Good point. There are so many Americans who are over there in the health care field trying to eradicate the virus and treat those who are already infected
JB

Jay Bird · 11:52 AM

And that's very valiant of them, but some have lost their lives in their efforts...
LT

Lizz Taylor · 11:53 AM

That's true. It's passed through bodily fluids. And symptoms do not appear until a couple weeks after you're infected...
LT

Lizz Taylor · 11:53 AM

But it's also not contagious until you start showing symptoms.
JB

Jay Bird · 11:54 AM

Yep. Patrick sawyer collapsed in Lagos, Nigeria when he got off the plane.
LT

Lizz Taylor · 11:54 AM

Yes. He became infected in Liberia
JB

Jay Bird · 11:54 AM

He was infected and was on an international flight... In an international airport...
JB

Jay Bird · 11:55 AM

This could mean other people could potentially carry the virus all over the world.
LT

Lizz Taylor · 11:55 AM

That's always a concern
LT

Lizz Taylor · 11:56 AM

Sanjay Gupta seems to think its spread is unavoidable...
LT

Lizz Taylor · 11:56 AM

However, if you're in a country like the USA then you'll have more resources to better treat your symptoms and hopefully not die!
JB

Jay Bird · 11:57 AM

That would certainly be a terrible way to die
JB

Jay Bird · 11:58 AM

The people are getting infected in Liberia, Sierra Leon and guinea
JB

Jay Bird · 11:59 AM

And now Nigeria where this sawyer Patrick man collapsed and died 5 days later
LT

Lizz Taylor · 11:59 AM

The safest way to avoid the plague is by avoiding third world countries like this...
LT

Lizz Taylor · 11:59 AM

*these
LT

Lizz Taylor · 12:00 PM

But if that's your job then you need to be prepared for anything and certainly take measures to ensue your health
LT

Lizz Taylor · 12:01 PM

These people also have to be quarantined
JB

Jay Bird · 12:02 PM

Yep. Since it's so easily spread when symptoms are prevalent
JB

Jay Bird · 12:02 PM

It can also be misdiagnosed just like most other diseaaea
JB

Jay Bird · 12:02 PM

Diseases
LT

Lizz Taylor · 12:03 PM

I don't think anyone would miss this diagnosis with it in the news like it is
JB

Jay Bird · 12:03 PM

I hope so!
JB

Jay Bird · 12:04 PM

We constantly hear about these crazy viruses on the news, but rarely does the USA feel threatened.
JB

Jay Bird · 12:04 PM

However, with all of the terrible plane crashes and planes gone missing lately, you would be crazy to fly anywhere! Especially out of the country!!
LT

Lizz Taylor · 12:05 PM

True!
LT

Lizz Taylor · 12:06 PM

It soundsnReally unpleasant. Diarrhea, vomitting, kidney/liver problems, fever
LT

Lizz Taylor · 12:06 PM

Sounds like the flu
JB

Jay Bird · 12:07 PM

Except worse!
JB

Jay Bird · 12:07 PM

The Ebola virus is nothing to mess with
LT

Lizz Taylor · 12:07 PM

No one wants to get the Ebola birus
LT

Lizz Taylor · 12:07 PM

Especially not when you're minding your own business in your home town
LT

Lizz Taylor · 12:07 PM

If the Ebola virus hits USA it could cause mass pandemonium
JB

Jay Bird · 12:08 PM

Everyone would freak out if the Ebola virus got into the USA
LT

Lizz Taylor · 12:08 PM

Yes. Because that's what Americans do! Lol
JB

Jay Bird · 12:08 PM

Haha. Hopefully the Ebola virus will be contained to these areas for now and we can eventually find a way to eradicate it completely
LT

Lizz Taylor · 12:09 PM

I mean, could you imagine living in a third world country like Nigeria, Liberia or guinea?
LT

Lizz Taylor · 12:09 PM

Its amazing these people have not become extinct!
JB

Jay Bird · 12:10 PM

Well that's bc USA is always helping other countries instead of our own... Now it's coating lives to help others... There is no world war going on (yet). We need to stick to domestic issues for now. There are plenty of people in need in America
LT

Lizz Taylor · 12:10 PM

And btw, the Patrick sawyer guy is a naturalized American citizen...
JB

Jay Bird · 12:12 PM

His kids were born in USA
JB

Jay Bird · 12:12 PM

And his sister died of the virus and he just visited her...
LT

Lizz Taylor · 12:13 PM

Need to be careful. Especially if you're knowingly in contact with someone who has it !!! Hello??!?!?!
JB

Jay Bird · 12:13 PM

Haha. Yep
LT

Lizz Taylor · 12:13 PM

Well thank you for joining me today.
JB

Jay Bird · 12:13 PM

Welcome. Bye!
LT

Lizz Taylor · 12:13 PM

Bye for now
