Hi everyone, I couldn't make it into the studio today but I will be tuning in live to report on Hurricane Maria and Jose. I will also be taking questions from the audience.

We've also seen terrible destruction from Hurricane Jose in the Atlantic Ocean southwest of Bermuda and east of Florida. Which has been labelled as a disaster zone.

“Its unbelievable and scary to see them so close together. Do you think there is any correlation between the two?”

Great question. Let me show you what’s going on. When you look at these 2 storm tracks and they were both very powerful hurricanes which altered the speed of the gulf stream.

Just think of the gulf stream as a big tube of water, usually a little warmer than what’s in the Atlantic. So the hurricanes were spinning counter clock-wise, and the general wind collection went directly against the current slowing it down by 30-40%.
