Totally and kind of a emotional because food is so intricately connected to life in a way you first start to realize when you have to make a big change-

About 10 years ago I went through a year of stomach issues, and was only able to eat bland foods, like no sauces or spices, garlic, chocolate... Had to give up so many foods

And it was really tough mentally, because it's different when you are choosing to go on a diet and you can cheat and ease your way in

Yes interesting what we do when the choices changes- kind of an editing process that goes on - first you just buy everything that can possibly work in an attempt to just satisfy what's missing and then slowly you just learn you're new staples.

The best encouragement I got was- "everyone has their 40 things that they buy at the market- your brands your history- you will still have a shopping list of 40 but they will be a different 40-"

But as for eating out- that's a little harder in the beginning- until you realize that social eating is never about the food- it's about the company. As long as you have one healthy safe thing to eat- you're good and your focus is on the people
