Not quite as picturesque as Bethlehem - but far tamer than Cairo! All my Israeli friends were horrified to hear I went to Ramallah (they still remember the lynching that happened there in 2001)

So many. I remember watching the men dancing in Midan Tahrir on the eve of the Eid, and watching the boats on the Nile decorated with Christmas lights... and the street worker who may or may not have been trying to marry me...
