JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:00 AM

Hey Jack....
JT

Jack Terry · 1:00 AM

What's going on JD? Ready for some football tawk?
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:00 AM

I am so ready for some football tawk....it's gonna be a great season!!
JT

Jack Terry · 1:01 AM

Well, for most of the NFL teams, but I don't think the St. Louis Rams are feeling so hot right now.
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:01 AM

I would think not...Sam Bradford is a huge loss..
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:02 AM

and I love him from his years at Oklahoma
JT

Jack Terry · 1:02 AM

That really changes everything for them, and for their division.
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:02 AM

It certainly opens things up for the division...although the Rams weren't exactly a dominating team anyway.
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:03 AM

Zach Stacy may shine for them though....
JT

Jack Terry · 1:03 AM

No, but there was at least a sense of hope. Certainly with the Michael Sam draft their was plenty of buzz around them.
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:03 AM

Shaun Hill isn't the strongest arm in the NFL
JT

Jack Terry · 1:03 AM

After 13 years of being a perenial backup, I don't think anybody would be.
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:04 AM

brb...glitchy...darn it!!
JT

Jack Terry · 1:05 AM

'K. Their other options is a rookie and a two year guy, Austin Davis who I was gonna say I'd never heard of but his name is ringing a bell.
JT

Jack Terry · 1:05 AM

Of course knowing me I'm probably thinking of Austin Miles and Tyrell Davis.
JT

Jack Terry · 1:07 AM

And in other news to be filed under the "See you next year" folder, Josh Gordon's one year suspension has been upheld.
JT

Jack Terry · 1:08 AM

I don't know if any of those trades will help the Rams Jeff. As for Gordon, I think he's gonna be smoking weed for a lot longer than a year.
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:09 AM

can you see me?
JT

Jack Terry · 1:09 AM

of course this also makes the whole QB controversy between Hoyer and Manziel kind of a moot point if they aren't going to have anyone to throw to.
JT

Jack Terry · 1:09 AM

Yes I can!
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:09 AM

Yay...so I"ll catch up...
JT

Jack Terry · 1:10 AM

You need two years and a solid quarterback. By the time a team gets settled in, the defenses have been able to adjust.
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:10 AM

The Browns are screwed....Gordon for a year and no QB worth their weight
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:10 AM

I like Hoyer but not sure about his endurance...yu know?
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:11 AM

★ Spotlighted from Jeff Falk

I actually don't think anything's gonna help the Rams in the short term, too hard to be good in the NFL without a top QB

JT

Jack Terry · 1:11 AM

No endurance at all.
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:11 AM

Jeff...they are struggling to fine anyone!!
JT

Jack Terry · 1:11 AM

There's a reason they carry a clipboard. If you're Charlie Batch you can make it work in Pittsburgh.
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:11 AM

Orton has even crossed their minds!
JT

Jack Terry · 1:12 AM

Oh, you mean the retired Dallas Cowboy Quarterback?
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:12 AM

Orton has played for a few teams
JT

Jack Terry · 1:13 AM

Yeah but anytime I can rag on my Cowgirls I go for it.
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:13 AM

True true
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:13 AM

★ Spotlighted from Jeff Falk

Retired,...haha...how generous

JT

Jack Terry · 1:13 AM

The Browns have Austin Miles and Nate Burleson, so they aren't completely going to be lost.
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:14 AM

Austin has fallen to the Cleveland curse and drop balls he should catch
JT

Jack Terry · 1:14 AM

Oh no, it had nothing to do with (lack of) talent. He just wanted to be the smartest rat on a sinking ship and get off!
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:14 AM

Oh, that's right he did that in Dallas too...lol
JT

Jack Terry · 1:14 AM

He had that curse when he wore the star. Talented player but slippery fingers.
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:14 AM

★ Spotlighted from Jeff Falk

They were kinda lost even with Gordon.....it's the Browns

JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:14 AM

You're right Jeff..they are indeed the browns
JT

Jack Terry · 1:15 AM

Yeah I'd like to disagree but a quick look over their roster does not bring up many names that are on the "who's who of the NFL."
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:16 AM

So many coaches and starting QB's over the past 7 years...no wonder the Browns aren't gelling
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:16 AM

★ Spotlighted from Jeff Falk

Bottom third in power rankings for at least last 15 years

JT

Jack Terry · 1:17 AM

It's funny. As all things in Cleveland do it comes back to LeBron. The list of people he couldn't get to join him before he won in Miami is legendary.
JT

Jack Terry · 1:17 AM

Now that he has a ring, everyone wants to be there. Without a winning legacy (at least not one in the last 50 years) it's just not an attractive place for a superstar to go.
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:17 AM

So...with or without Johnny Manziel....the Browns are still the Browns
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:18 AM

★ Spotlighted from Jeff Falk

I was just thinking about him....haha

JT

Jack Terry · 1:18 AM

I also have to admit that I was wrong. Apparently that texans/Broncos preseason game was worth watching.
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:19 AM

I saw a lot of lazy play this past weekend...don't get hurt mentality...
JT

Jack Terry · 1:19 AM

★ Spotlighted from Jeff Falk

Starting Manziel would be admitting they can't get beyond their own history...he's a gimmick

JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:19 AM

Wow...I think Manziel is a very trainable QB...
JT

Jack Terry · 1:20 AM

Definitely, but I think the Texans came out with something to prove and, while I'm certainly not forgetting their season last year, I'm a little less pessimistic for them.
JT

Jack Terry · 1:20 AM

Trainable, but how quickly?
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:20 AM

Not year 1...maybe not year 2...but he may grow into a good NFL QB
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:20 AM

There are legends all over the NFL that didn't start off with a bang...
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:21 AM

Two or three years in...now they start to shine...
JT

Jack Terry · 1:21 AM

I understand that, but I believe that defenses change first in the NFL and offensive have to respond. By the time he gets good the defenses will know what he's going to do.
JT

Jack Terry · 1:22 AM

Look at RGIII. He was figured out pretty quickly, and Johnny Football's skill set isn't much different.
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:22 AM

★ Spotlighted from Jeff Falk

I just heard someone make a good comparison,.....a QB is like a COO of a multi million/billion $ operation.....He just doesn't inspire confidence...

JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:23 AM

True...Manziel is very similar...thinks he can do it all.
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:23 AM

★ Spotlighted from Jeff Falk

Jack, Rules change first.....then defenses, then offenses :)

JT

Jack Terry · 1:23 AM

I say week 5. The Browns open at Pittsburgh then host the Saints and the Ravens. Week 4 is their bye week, which is when they'll train Manziel to take over for the 0-3 Hoyer.
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:24 AM

marked on the calender..
JT

Jack Terry · 1:24 AM

Speaking of rule changes, I think the refs have a bonus program this preseason: throw more flags, make more money.
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:25 AM

I really hope they chill when the real deal begins
JT

Jack Terry · 1:25 AM

I don't know, there's a new rule about contact (which sounds a lot like the old rule about contact) beyond 5 yards that they seemed to be calling every play.
JT

Jack Terry · 1:26 AM

Even the announcers were getting frustrated, celebrating when a play went off without a penalty.
JT

Jack Terry · 1:28 AM

And what happened with your Chiefs last week? Lost to the Minnesota Vikings, who have chosen Matt Cassel to be their starter
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:28 AM

★ Spotlighted from Jeff Falk

Whereas in the "old" days, DB's were draped all over and the hits weren't as violent.

JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:28 AM

They were so half-assed...I could see it
JT

Jack Terry · 1:28 AM

Yeah, because they have more room to come in for the play.
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:29 AM

★ Spotlighted from Jeff Falk

I heard an interesting take on that contact rule.....Someone suggested that because defenses have to lay off in zone more, violent (head) hits have increased.

JT

Jack Terry · 1:29 AM

When they used to wear the wide outs like a dress, the contact was simple wrap and tackle. Now they have time to move.
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:30 AM

★ Spotlighted from Jeff Falk

Unless you were Michael Ervin ....he threw DB's off....

JT

Jack Terry · 1:30 AM

Look at Brandon Meriweather from Washington. Suspended the first 2 games for another preseason helmet to helmet hit, after being suspended last year for multiple hits.
JT

Jack Terry · 1:31 AM

It was just like Jordan pushing off to open himself up for the shot. Irvin was smooth.
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:31 AM

★ Spotlighted from Jeff Falk

An ability I respect to this day....even for a Cowboy

JT

Jack Terry · 1:31 AM

You just did!
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:31 AM

★ Spotlighted from Jeff Falk

Brandon Meriweather is just a dumbass...can I type that here?

JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:31 AM

★ Spotlighted from Jeff Falk

His interviews when he was in NE were legendary fodder

JT

Jack Terry · 1:32 AM

Oh he is definitely an engaging guy. Like James Harrison when he would be called out for his shots.
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:32 AM

★ Spotlighted from Jeff Falk

The self proclaimed Party Starter

JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:33 AM

This week marks the end of preseason...any cuts that will surprise?
JT

Jack Terry · 1:34 AM

Yeah. Michael Sam.
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:34 AM

you think he'll be cut? that would be a surprise...I thing he's had a great preseason
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:34 AM

★ Spotlighted from Jeff Falk

You mean surprised when Sam doesn't get cut?

JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:34 AM

★ Spotlighted from Jeff Falk

Tommy Kelly surprised me

JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:35 AM

third highest sacks so far...
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:35 AM

★ Spotlighted from Jeff Falk

For the Rams................

JT

Jack Terry · 1:35 AM

I think he does. 8 DE's on that team and he's the young man on the list.
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:35 AM

yes, Jeff for the rams
JT

Jack Terry · 1:35 AM

...in preseason.
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:35 AM

you may well be right Jack...but I wouldn't bet on it
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:36 AM

He has looked sharp, even playing 2nd and 3rd
JT

Jack Terry · 1:36 AM

He definitely has skill, and there isn't any big name in front of him, but it's still a tough call to make.
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:37 AM

So this week is pretty much the last chance dance...some will fall, some will rise...
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:37 AM

who is the bust out of the year?
JT

Jack Terry · 1:37 AM

I think anybody who gets cut by the Patriots will get at least sniffed at by another team. Tommy Kelly has skills and Arizona can use the help.
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:37 AM

So can the rams....
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:38 AM

★ Spotlighted from Jeff Falk

against 2's and 3's

JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:38 AM

★ Spotlighted from Jeff Falk

I'll be surprised if he doesn't get cut

JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:38 AM

★ Spotlighted from Jeff Falk

also surprised hough if he doesn't sign elsewhere

JT

Jack Terry · 1:38 AM

That's a tough call. Football's gotta be one of the hardest sports for rookies to come in and make a name for themselves.
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:39 AM

YOu've got to look at the big picture...that's what coaches do...owners, managers all that...you can't churn through personnel...
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:40 AM

★ Spotlighted from Jeff Falk

Clowney

JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:40 AM

How about Bridgewater...Mr touchdown Teddy
JT

Jack Terry · 1:40 AM

Someone might think I'm on the Rams payroll, but I'd look at Tre Mason and Trey Watts. With no QB they need a strong running game.
JT

Jack Terry · 1:40 AM

and RB's seem to have the most early success.
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:41 AM

Zach Stacy
JT

Jack Terry · 1:41 AM

Bridgewater will succeed just as soon at the real Matt Cassel shows up.
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:41 AM

Cassel needs an army to protect him...Bridgewater can move....
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:41 AM

★ Spotlighted from Jeff Falk

Plays a position where highlights practically live, also hard to spotlight the failures there...easy to make him look good this year.

JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:41 AM

★ Spotlighted from Jeff Falk

haha...the pair of tre's

JT

Jack Terry · 1:42 AM

I think Stacy won't get enough touches. As the biggest RB on that roster he's going to be short yardage third down territory most likely.
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:42 AM

I have been very impressed with Bridgewaters' composure under presssure
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:43 AM

Stacy is a short yard back but when he breaks one, he's hard to tackle
JT

Jack Terry · 1:43 AM

I was catching some Sportscenter blah, blah, blah about Heisman hopefuls, and they made a great Clowney point: if not for that tremendous hit, he would have a stellar under the radar year.
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:43 AM

★ Spotlighted from Jeff Falk

don't see may third and shorts in his future?

JT

Jack Terry · 1:43 AM

Would have had a great year regardless, but once you make that big a highlight, every play after is held up in comparison.
JT

Jack Terry · 1:44 AM

Plenty of 3rd and shorts, but 3 yards at a time doesn't make you a household name.
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:44 AM

Okay, so let's tawk about the hopefuls...the teams that have the talent, the coaching, the skills to be playoff teams...predictions boys?
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:45 AM

★ Spotlighted from Jeff Falk

correct Jack, ad once his NFL buzz really hit, he stopped trying...attidue problem....

JT

Jack Terry · 1:45 AM

Are we tawking out of the blue teams, teams we wouldn't expect, or maybe some more of the tried and true from last year?
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:45 AM

Here we are looking week 1 in the eye...who's the contenders?
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:46 AM

★ Spotlighted from Jeff Falk

AFC is easy...Denver and NE..... NFC?....Seattle and perhaps NO

JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:46 AM

★ Spotlighted from Jeff Falk

SF keeps falling...they are regressing

JT

Jack Terry · 1:46 AM

Totally off the cuff (notes are back in PA) I have a soft spot for the Falcons. I think they give NO a run for their money.
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:47 AM

Sleepers?
JT

Jack Terry · 1:47 AM

I don't want to like the 49ers or Kaperneck, but I think they just keep clicking this year.
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:47 AM

I have a soft spot for Detroit...not SB bound but playoff contenders
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:47 AM

★ Spotlighted from Jeff Falk

Coaches and QBs.....That's what's gonna do it

JT

Jack Terry · 1:47 AM

The Dolphins. Every year they seem to get a little bit more of their house in order, and I think this is the year they make it happen.
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:48 AM

So who's got the hot shot coach this season? Jeff...who?
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:48 AM

★ Spotlighted from Jeff Falk

Kap has plateaued......as Jack has said.....D's figure them out

JT

Jack Terry · 1:48 AM

If I say this is Jason Garret has a breakout coaching season this year, how loud will you all laugh at me?
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:49 AM

SO very loud!!
JT

Jack Terry · 1:49 AM

:-)
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:50 AM

The first week of the season looks to be a very exciting opening weekend...Green Bay and Seattle
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:50 AM

The Colts against Manning and the Donkeys...Denver
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:51 AM

★ Spotlighted from Jeff Falk

Garret is a competent coordinator...not Head Coach material

JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:51 AM

★ Spotlighted from Jeff Falk

And that is Jerry Jones' fault

JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:51 AM

★ Spotlighted from Jeff Falk

He won't hire a coach anymore with the um, intestinal fortitude to coach the Cowboys correctly

JT

Jack Terry · 1:51 AM

I like Carolina this year, even though at 11-5 last year not really a sleeper.
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:51 AM

Dallas opens against the 49er's...
JT

Jack Terry · 1:51 AM

Jeff, you have nailed the Cowgirls in a nutshell.
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:51 AM

I like the Chiefs to sail right in, just like last season...
JT

Jack Terry · 1:51 AM

Yeah, I'm not looking forward to that game. Or the rest of them this season for that matter.
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:52 AM

★ Spotlighted from Jeff Falk

Everyobe but Jones has nailed that bro

JT

Jack Terry · 1:52 AM

Hosting the Titans, they should do well to open up.
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:52 AM

I think Charles will come out with guns blazing...
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:52 AM

He hasn't seen any game time for a while!
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:53 AM

★ Spotlighted from Jeff Falk

I fotgot the Titans existed

JT

Jack Terry · 1:53 AM

He should. I think a good first game to watch will be in Miami. There really isn't a must win game in the first week, but beating the Patriots will go a long way.
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:54 AM

Tannehill is doing okay...he's got some talent
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:54 AM

★ Spotlighted from Jeff Falk

But do the Dolphins prepare for week 1 better than the Pats?...honestly?

JT

Jack Terry · 1:54 AM

Browns Steelers will be fun, just to see two train wrecks.
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:54 AM

But against Brady?
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:54 AM

LOL...that should be a sad situation...Browns Steelers
JT

Jack Terry · 1:54 AM

I think they prepare so much that win or lose they probably blow the next game because they're not ready.
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:56 AM

I think the highlight game of wk 1 will be Andrew Luck and his Colts against legendary colts QB Peyton Manning and the Donkey...ooops Broncos
JT

Jack Terry · 1:56 AM

at Bills and Raiders with hosting the Chiefs in between. The Fins beat the pats and they might be looking at 3-1 for their bye week.
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:56 AM

★ Spotlighted from Jeff Falk

Browns/Steelers - Old should have been better QB vs. young should be but won't get better QB ;)

JT

Jack Terry · 1:57 AM

Speaking of old versus new, you're right JD. The Colts past meets their present (and future)
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:57 AM

I think it's going to be a good game. Luck is looking much more solid...and Manning well, he's got his heart in that stadium...right
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:58 AM

★ Spotlighted from Jeff Falk

I wish the Colts were better overall...I like Luck

JT

Jack Terry · 1:58 AM

Do you mean you wish the Colts "luck?" (I crack myself up!)
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:58 AM

Shut up Jack....
JT

Jack Terry · 1:58 AM

You know you love me!
JT

Jack Terry · 1:58 AM

★ Spotlighted from Jeff Falk

ew

JT

Jack Terry · 1:58 AM

As a Cowboys fan I have learned to laugh at football.
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:58 AM

Snoozer of week one...Minnesota and the Rams...
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:59 AM

I'm talking week 1
JT

Jack Terry · 1:59 AM

It better not be, for either team. They both need to prove that their quarterback situation doesn't sink them.
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 1:59 AM

I think Minnie has a great b/u QB...Bridgewater needs to play
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 2:00 AM

Cassel is just...done
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 2:00 AM

★ Spotlighted from Jeff Falk

He has more upside than Cassel

JT

Jack Terry · 2:00 AM

And he will. Too many teams have proven that Cassel is a one hit wonder. It looks brillaint for a short bit and then settles into overwhelming mediocrity
JT

Jack Terry · 2:01 AM

The perfect way to describe a Matt Cassel performance is to say "and the crowd goes mild."
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 2:01 AM

guys, it's been awesome...
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 2:01 AM

I'm loving the convo and can't wait for next Tuesday at 8 pm CST...
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 2:01 AM

★ Spotlighted from Jeff Falk

What?.....no Mankins trade talk?....awww

JT

Jack Terry · 2:01 AM

It has. JD and I will do this again tomorrow 11am, and next week we're moving Primetime to Tueday 9pm. JD will be on vacation but I have a brilliant co-host waiting in the wings.
JT

Jack Terry · 2:02 AM

Running out of time Jeff. We'll cover it tomorrow.
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 2:02 AM

good to hear Jack...I was concerned since...well you don't have many friends. lol
JT

Jack Terry · 2:02 AM

My mom has a large payroll.
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 2:02 AM

lol...good night...
JT

Jack Terry · 2:02 AM

Good night!
