I have to say, I loved the gun-control march I observed on Saturday in Washington. The crowd was good-hearted, gracious, diverse and welcoming. What did you think?

I agree david, there was no culture war nastiness, no hint of resentment. There was no ill will toward anybody but the N.R.A. Something that did stand out to me was how grandiose and pretencious some students were.n

Thats quite true, I guess we just forget. What stood out most for you from watching the march?

After so much talk on “revolution,” I think this march was about a series of sensible, practical and moderate reforms: restricting assault weapons, expanding background checks and similar measures.

Yes there is nothing hard line about this. It’s great to see a sensible march, after having a country gyrate out of control with so much extremism the last year. And the turnout was impressive in size. n

it was incredible, never have I seen such a sheer number of youths protesting in one area. It struck me as a very characteristic burst of American moral passion.n
