Good evening Mr. Sudy, great to be tawking in this beautiful new room.
JS

Jordan Sudy · 12:01 AM

Indeed, it's got that new car smell in here
Blake Ian

Blake Ian · 12:01 AM

haha it does... Why don't we take our users through some of the changes
JS

Jordan Sudy · 12:01 AM

Sounds good...
JS

Jordan Sudy · 12:02 AM

The most dramatic change is the fact that the stage and forum are now sitting side by side, as opposed to on top of one another
Blake Ian

Blake Ian · 12:02 AM

Couldn't help but notice…

After looking at a lot of designs across the web and taking user feedback into account, we realized it was tricky to read a live Tawk while also consuming all the commentary happening below in the forum.
JS

Jordan Sudy · 12:02 AM

Your eye had to dance up and down, and you had to scroll beneath the fold. Especially when there were lots of people in the room and comments were pouring in, it became a lot to keep up with.
Blake Ian

Blake Ian · 12:04 AM

Totally... left to right is much easier on the eye, so this new design should allow everyone to take it all in!
JS

Jordan Sudy · 12:04 AM

And we've shortened the height of the Tawk, so you never have to scroll below the "fold" as it's called, to read what's being said.

Sorry I'm a few minutes late...is there a way to skip right to the start of the tawk? I want to read from the beginning to catch up!

Blake Ian

Blake Ian · 12:08 AM

Good question Michael... on the title bar above the tawk, you have the option to flip all the way up to the beginning by pressing "Top" or shoot down to the end by pressing "Live"

We've also tried to de-clutter a bit, so you'll notice that audience comment fields aren't crowded with icons anymore.  Instead, you click the "…" and it swipes over to reveal your options to "like", "dislike" or share that comment.
JS

Jordan Sudy · 12:09 AM

Yup, and the share buttons on the Host's comments are bigger as well. People weren't realizing that you could tweet, post or otherwise share individual comments that they found particularly interesting or on point.
Blake Ian

Blake Ian · 12:10 AM

Also bigger are the Overheard and Spotlight tabs.  If you get overheard a big, blue "OH" tab appears, if you get spotlit, you'll see an orange "S".  So it's clear to anyone in the room that your comment has gotten some love.

Jordan Sudy · 12:10 AM

Gotta give credit where it's due!
Blake Ian

Blake Ian · 12:11 AM

Indeed... Other than that we've just made some small language changes.  To view audience commentary, click on "Comments", to see who else is in the room and listen to people, click "Who's Here" -- that's fairly straightforward.
Blake Ian

Blake Ian · 12:11 AM

And you can share out the link to the Tawk by pressing that big, familiar looking share icon in the top right corner.
JS

Jordan Sudy · 12:12 AM

And that's pretty much it for now, folks.  Your dashboard remains the same, so your notifications will still appear at the very top bar.  And you can still crawl through all your tawks and edit your profile by clicking on your name
Blake Ian

Blake Ian · 12:12 AM

Well that's Tawkers 2.0.  There are still improvements to be made and we're always working to make things slicker and snappier.  We look forward to having more exciting changes to announce soon.  In the meantime, we welcome any and all feedback.
JS

Jordan Sudy · 12:12 AM

Definitely.  Please don't hesitate to shoot an email to support@tawkers.com or get in touch with us personally.  We really value your thoughts
