Join Jack and JD as this week they look back at the opening of training camps and what impact they expect the highly touted first years QBs will have on their teams.

JT

Jack Terry · 3:00 PM

What's going on JD? Are you ready for some FOOTBALL?!?
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 3:00 PM

Good Morning, Jack!!
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 3:00 PM

I am more than ready for some football! Bring it on!!
JT

Jack Terry · 3:00 PM

First week of training camp under most teams belts, time to see if the draft picks were worth it!
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 3:01 PM

I have to reboot...brb
JT

Jack Terry · 3:01 PM

Ah, the joys of modern technology.
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 3:01 PM

okay, let's see if that worked...
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 3:01 PM

hang on...
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 3:02 PM

testing...
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 3:02 PM

crap...
JT

Jack Terry · 3:02 PM

I see your posts.
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 3:02 PM

I have to refresh to see the comments every time
JT

Jack Terry · 3:03 PM

awesome. shall we reschedule?
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 3:03 PM

pain in the butt, but I'll deal with it...so QB's...
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 3:04 PM

okay...give me 2 minutes to completely reboot...I'll be right back.
JT

Jack Terry · 3:04 PM

okey dokey
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 3:08 PM

Let
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 3:08 PM

okay...we're in business now!!
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 3:08 PM

Sorry about that Jack...
JT

Jack Terry · 3:09 PM

Happens to the best of us. So let's start with Johnny "$20 bill in a Las Vegas restroom himself...
JT

Jack Terry · 3:09 PM

Do you think he is under the most pressure in the NFL this rookie season?
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 3:10 PM

Yes, Johnny Football is indeed under pressure. Reports from the Cleveland Browns coaching staff is that he is doing very, very well learning the playbook...
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 3:10 PM

But is having difficulty with coverages
JT

Jack Terry · 3:10 PM

And yet the Brows are still saying that Bryan Hoyer is going to be their starter.
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 3:11 PM

Hoyer was doing very well last season prior to his injury...and the Browns are planning to start him but share snaps with Johnny Manziel.
JT

Jack Terry · 3:11 PM

I think some of it a psych job as well. Make Manziel earn some respect and realize this isn't college anymore.
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 3:12 PM

There are some personal issues with Manziel also...the coaching staff wants him to stop partying but he says it's his right...not a good idea Johnny!
JT

Jack Terry · 3:12 PM

Yeah and it's the NFL's right to invoke the player conduct clause and sit him if they think he needs it.
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 3:12 PM

He was all "I'm 21 years old, I can have a nightlife if I want."
JT

Jack Terry · 3:12 PM

Oh to be 21 and dumb again...
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 3:13 PM

He said that in a press conference last week following the first few days of training camp
JT

Jack Terry · 3:13 PM

Do you think that attitude is why he dropped to 22nd in the draft?
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 3:13 PM

I believe that is correct...he's a bit of a cocky dude and needs to have Ray Rice or Suggs knock the attitude out of him
JT

Jack Terry · 3:14 PM

Yeah but if Ray Rice knocks him out he'll then have to marry him!
JT

Jack Terry · 3:14 PM

The Browns were actually confortable enough with Hiyer to draft a CB before they got around to picking up Johnny Football.
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 3:14 PM

LOL....so true!! How about that? A 2 game suspension for knocking a woman out but Josh Gordon gets suspended for an entire season for a little weed? Hmmm...
JT

Jack Terry · 3:15 PM

The NFL should be hearing a lot more about this than they are. It's disgraceful.
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 3:15 PM

Manziel is the future according to sources close to the browns office.
JT

Jack Terry · 3:16 PM

Not if he gets busted with hookers and blow. Speaking of futures though, that's what it looks like the Jacksonville Jaguars see in Blake Bortles.
JT

Jack Terry · 3:16 PM

The only problem for the Jags is that, at 2, their QB depth chart is deeper than the WR's.
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 3:16 PM

I read the same thing...his camp is going well but he's not ready to start in the NFL
JT

Jack Terry · 3:17 PM

They have a servicable QB in Chad Henne.
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 3:17 PM

Henne is a damn good leader and has skills...too bad there isn't a team to support him
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 3:18 PM

How about the Vikings?? 3 QB's all vying for the starting spot...
JT

Jack Terry · 3:18 PM

Can you call a place in a revolving door a spot?
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 3:18 PM

Rookie, Teddy Bridgewater, Christian Ponder and Matt Cassell!
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 3:19 PM

If Minnesota knows what is good for them they will have a revolving door...they are playing outside for the next 2-3 years!!
JT

Jack Terry · 3:19 PM

Cassell showed some promise in KC, didn't he? What happened to him there?
JT

Jack Terry · 3:19 PM

That's just what a mediocre (at best) teams in the frigid north needs to do to draw even fewer fans-play outdoors How did the NFL let that happen?
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 3:19 PM

Cassell shined in New England when Brady got hurt a few years back...KC picked up Cassell but didn't have the line that NE had to protect him...
JT

Jack Terry · 3:20 PM

I thought a good operator didn't blame his tools. ;-)
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 3:20 PM

That's what he said!!!
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 3:20 PM

lol
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 3:20 PM

Cassell didn't do the blaming...it's my conclusion as a fan of KC.
JT

Jack Terry · 3:21 PM

Let's not forget Oakland (or should we start calling them San Antonio) with their early 2nd round pick, Derek "I won't be as big a bust as my older brother" Carr.
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 3:21 PM

the Raiders are filled with hope at this point...even the ESPN analysts are predicting some suprises from Oakland
JT

Jack Terry · 3:22 PM

Matt Schaub is looking good. I can't even begin to imagine how so many things went so wrong for the Houston Texans last year.
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 3:23 PM

Back to the outdoor play issue in MN...if you recall, the dome collapsed two winters ago...caused big safety issues so the new stadium became a reality. U of M stadium is all that is available.
JT

Jack Terry · 3:23 PM

Where did they play last year?
JT

Jack Terry · 3:23 PM

I mean, I know Green Bay and Chicago and Buffalo all play outdoors, but still.
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 3:23 PM

In a repaired Dome...Why build an inflatable stadium in an environment that gets 3 feet of snow at one time???
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 3:24 PM

Well, the Vikings are wusses...believe me. Without Adrian Peterson they would be NOTHING
JT

Jack Terry · 3:24 PM

Less than nothing.
JT

Jack Terry · 3:24 PM

So I want to make a big jump to the fifth round of the draft and AJ McCarron
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 3:25 PM

I loved McCarron at Alabama...he I believe he is ready for the NFL...mature, smart and talented.
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 3:25 PM

Maybe only on the practice squad but he will see some action in his rookie season if not become a starter.
JT

Jack Terry · 3:25 PM

Apparently not too many scouts and GMs agree with you, letting him slip to the 164th pick. They think of him as a system QB
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 3:26 PM

No pressure on him...I'd like to see him rise to the top and shine.
JT

Jack Terry · 3:26 PM

Well, he has some stiff competition in Andy Dalton and Jason Campbell. Remember when Campbell was going to save the Washington (insert insensitive name here)'s?
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 3:26 PM

His style of play would be an asset to any team
JT

Jack Terry · 3:27 PM

I can tell you what EVERYBODY is going to say if he does turn into a career QB with good numbers and wins...
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 3:27 PM

Jason Campbell was signed by the Browns last year when Hoyer got hurt, Weeden got hurt...and Campbell couldn't do a damn thing for them.
JT

Jack Terry · 3:27 PM

Campbell can't even throw out the trash.
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 3:28 PM

I saw the KC/Cleveland game with Campbell at the helm and I think we sacked him about 200 times. lol
JT

Jack Terry · 3:28 PM

Nice!
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 3:28 PM

We being KC...go Chiefs!
JT

Jack Terry · 3:29 PM

Gotta get your kicks when you can! So here it is: which of these touted rookie QB's makes the first start?
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 3:29 PM

how about Romo and Weeden? Has Dallas lost its mind?
JT

Jack Terry · 3:29 PM

Can't lose what you've never had.
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 3:29 PM

I think Bridgewater with the Vikings may step up.
JT

Jack Terry · 3:30 PM

That's my guess too. I certainly think he'll be the first to see some action, if not as a starter.
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 3:30 PM

reports are that the Vikes camp is leaning hard towards Bridgewater.
JT

Jack Terry · 3:30 PM

The only hiccup is if the Browns start 0 and whatever. People will get anxious to see the golden boy
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 3:30 PM

Ponder isn't great by any means and there aren't enough lineman in the world to protect Cassell here in MN
JT

Jack Terry · 3:31 PM

The Vikes should be leaning that way. Much like the Bengals, the Vikings QB's have had their chances to prove themselves and they haven't gotten it done.
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 3:31 PM

Considering that Cleveland lost its #1 receiver and is having a very bumpy training camp...we'll see...Manziels legs may be his saving grace.
JT

Jack Terry · 3:32 PM

Yeah but he'll learn like RGIII learned before him that pro players run faster and hit harder than the kids he was avoiding in college.
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 3:33 PM

Hopes are high in Cleveland...with the return of Lebron James and acquiring a Heisman trophy winner for the Browns...
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 3:33 PM

Cleveland fans are among the most devoted in the NFL
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 3:33 PM

You'd have to be to continue being a fan!!
JT

Jack Terry · 3:33 PM

The Dawg Pound is crazy!
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 3:33 PM

You know it!!
JT

Jack Terry · 3:34 PM

Of course that may be because tickets are so cheap and easy to get!
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 3:34 PM

Let's tawk old school QB's...Big Ben and the Steelers...any chance of a winning season?
JT

Jack Terry · 3:34 PM

Winning season? Yes. Making a difference? No
JT

Jack Terry · 3:35 PM

They have no running game. I don't even have them making the play-offs.
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 3:35 PM

Tom Brady is getting older and slowing down also...the Patriots may see a different kind of season this year too...
JT

Jack Terry · 3:36 PM

They've become a dinosaur, and they will continue to because Belicheck won't do with the QB position that he has done successfully with every other position: trade the old and overpaid for young, cheap fresh legs.
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 3:37 PM

I see a turning of the tides in the 2014 NFL season...
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 3:37 PM

Seattle...contender of course. Denver...contender of course. but I believe we may see some "underdogs" whopping up on the old school teams
JT

Jack Terry · 3:37 PM

Maybe not this season, but definitely in the next year or two. Speaking of rookies, do you think Jadeveon Clowney lives up to his hype?
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 3:38 PM

I do...
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 3:38 PM

another rookie no one is expecting much from is Michael Sam...
JT

Jack Terry · 3:38 PM

Defensive players usually do make the transition quicker and more effectively from the NCAA to the NFL.
JT

Jack Terry · 3:38 PM

I think people are expecting more than they are letting on.
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 3:39 PM

I read a piece that his camp is going amazingly! He's shining and playing like a pro
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 3:39 PM

The problem in St Louis is Sam Bradford's health.
JT

Jack Terry · 3:39 PM

I never saw Bradford as a top tier QB and never understood the hype around him.
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 3:40 PM

ONe of the best college QB's to ever play the game but the transition to the NFL hasn't gone well. He's spent more time hurt than playing.
JT

Jack Terry · 3:40 PM

That never ends well. Who is the back up in St. Louis?
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 3:40 PM

Well, when he and Adrian Peterson were at OU together, they were unstoppable.
JT

Jack Terry · 3:41 PM

Yeah but Adrian Peterson could make me look like a great QB. All I'd have to do is hand off the ball and stay out of the way!
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 3:42 PM

Austin out of S. Mississippi...in his 3rd year as a Ram
JT

Jack Terry · 3:42 PM

I hope he's got the playbook down solid!
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 3:42 PM

Sam Bradford holds NCAA records for passing and won the Heisman as a Junior...hmmm, maybe better than you thought?
JT

Jack Terry · 3:43 PM

REALLY? Wow. Shows you much I follow college ball. Any idea who else was up for the Heisman that year?
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 3:43 PM

At the college level anyway...he's not done much in the NFL at all.
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 3:43 PM

Tebow was one...
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 3:44 PM

speaking of an NFL letdown...
JT

Jack Terry · 3:44 PM

and Colt McCoy was the other. Not exactly like besting Montana and Marino.
JT

Jack Terry · 3:44 PM

Tim Tebow needs to check his ego. He could play in the NFL if he were willing to be something other than a QB.
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 3:45 PM

so true....Colt McCoy couldn't see over an NFL line to save his life...another Browns acquisition that didn't work out.
JT

Jack Terry · 3:45 PM

You have to go to #5 on the last to see the best pro player: Michael Crabtree.
JT

Jack Terry · 3:45 PM

on the list, not the last.
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 3:46 PM

Crabtree is good but isn't he a problem player?
JT

Jack Terry · 3:46 PM

He's getting better with age. He did sit most of his first season because, as a rookie, he didn't like the contract he was offered. But he's been a key player for the 49er's.
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 3:47 PM

The 49er's are in it again this year...prediction
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 3:47 PM

Okay...nice tawk Jack...I look forward to next week and another about the developments in training camp!
JT

Jack Terry · 3:48 PM

I need to find my picks. I know I have them in the playoffs, but I think I got the Seahawks in the big game.
JT

Jack Terry · 3:48 PM

Tawk to you next week. And get your damn computer fixed!!
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 3:48 PM

Repeat of last years debocle?
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 3:48 PM

Denver is likely to take the AFC again...
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 3:49 PM

See you next week!!
JT

Jack Terry · 3:49 PM

I have Denver winning it all. Ciao!
JA

Jennifer "JD" Arbuckle · 3:49 PM

Argg...I hate the Broncos...Chiefs fan, remember?
