I (Wayne) am touring a wind generator facility on March 7th, 2014. This is testing a battery storage device. We'll also be covering emerging wind power technologies like Regedyne's design. Everything wind, everyone welcome!

In 2 small c-cans were 4,000+ lithium-ion cells

It was producing aprox 300 kw and it cost 7 mil with all the research as well, so would be cheaper next time.

he said that lithium-ion was the best choice for batteries, they are tested reliable. After 15 years, they should still have about 80% of their original capacity

It was good, but I think, regenedyne is a better system. but the battery packs were good idea.

I think if research is put into carbon nano tube tech, the battery systems could be WAY better.

In places where there is a lot of wind, like Regina Saskatchewan, wind could be a very good renewable power.

It's not as efficient as battery storage, at about 80% it's not near the 97% of this lithium-ion system

volcanoes are an awesome source of energy. iceland tapped one... they have heated sidwalks. Less than 1% of their infrastructure runs on fossil fuels.

LOL yep thats a good one for the right places, We should adapt renewable energy for what fits the environment it will be used in. Sunny places use solar, windy places using wind, coastal places using tidal or wave.

one of the major obstacles to this wind turbine was the soil... the cement work wat $200,000 due to our cruddy soil structure

I would like to see coal and natural gas become old ways and let in the new energy sources. I will try and look into what the government can offer here in canada, I don't know about the US, but I can put some effort there as well I guess.

there are some videos of turbines that were in too strong of wind and the brakes fail... they pretty much explodes when the props hit the tower

I work for the power company here, and the majority of our energy is coal, with a hefty side serving of natural gas/fracking. I'm trying to get people talking about renewables. We do have a number of wind projects here in Saskatchewan, but need more

in Bear River, Nova Scotia, which is on a tidal river, incoming water creats the power. some is used to pump water to a higher elevation. when the tide goes out. the falling water from above creates power the rest of the time.
